Crops
the cultivated species available to the model
Each entry in the catalogue is a biophysical profile: the fixed properties of the cultivar (yield in kg/Ha, food-calorie density, fodder by-product). The parameter rows nested under each crop describe how that crop behaves in a specific scenario — fallow ratio, percent of the diet it contributes, whether it is grown on common or specific land. A single crop can have many parameter sets; one of them is selected per scenario. Sowing ratios can be varied year-on-year within a scenario family (e.g. modelling a drought-year shift toward more barley); the downstream effects on fodder, dairy production, and fallow grazing recompute automatically.
